Purpose:

Responsible to perform clerk-typist duties, maintain files, typing of correspondence, place drug orders, receive and account for drugs coming from all manufacturers, control and maintain inventory stock. Update computer systems and assist Office Manager when necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for billing departments for floor stock.
  • Receives and unpacks incoming medications on a daily basis.
  • Investigates discrepancies on material received.
  • Responsible for processing purchase orders.
  • Responsible for compiling department activity report on a daily basis.
  • Receive company price changes and records in inventory.
  • Determines drug amounts to be ordered and places order on a daily basis.

Qualifications

Education and Formal Training Required:
  • High school graduate or equivalent required. 
  • Must have successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician course or is a graduate of a Practical Nursing Program with successful completion of the designated portion of the LPN Medication Administration Course. 
Experience Required: 
  • In lieu of the educational requirements, individual must have one year of acceptable experience as a Pharmacy Service Technician.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34
