Description

The Parking Administration is looking for a Manager, Parking Operations! This position is located at UPMC Mercy at 1400 Locust Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. This position is full-time with up to 40 hours per week. The shifts are Monday through Friday working daylight hours. The department is looking for someone with effective oral and written communication; experience in project planning; strong organizational and fiscal skills. Three to five years of previous experience in healthcare or a similar industry is required. 

The main job responsibilities include parking lease management, parking inventory management, parking revenue management, troubleshooting problems, working collaboratively with other departments, developing fiscal reports and summaries, etc. 

Purpose:

Under the general direction of the staff associate of Support Services, manages the daily operation of the Parking department including transportation, garages, cashiers, secretarial support, and the lease coordinator. Acts as assistant to the Staff Associate.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct subordinates in the implementation of departmental plans and accomplishment of their performance objectives to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee departmental and contracted transportation. Liaison with UPMC Shuttle Services.
  • Coordinate purchasing, contracting, scheduling, cleaning, and maintenance of all vehicles/garages within the department.
  • Assist in hiring Parking personnel and provides effective and timely performance evaluations for departmental employees.
  • Manage the fiscal operations of the parking and transportation section including cash management, revenue monitoring, billing, payroll processing, and record keeping.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner with all patients and visitors at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records for leaseholders and audit payments and payroll deductions
  • Maintain accurate records for leaseholder space availability and assign parking based on established procedures.
  • Develops signage, barriers, and other features necessary to coordinate with construction program.
  • Oversee all coordinators and attendants to ensure the effective operation of parking garages, parking lots, information desk and visitor entrances.
  • Coordinate repair work to garages and other facilities as needed.
  • Provide relief for valet and front desk when necessary. Organize service required for special events.
  • Coordinate vehicle insurance with Risk Management department. Coordinate all contracted services.
  • Schedule and assign employees as needed to maintain optimum customer service
  • Responsible for keeping the staff associate updated on the daily operation of the information desks, parking and transportation.
  • Works effectively with other departments to ensure that patients' and visitors' expectations are met. Respond to all complaints from patients and visitors in a timely manner.
  • Oversee secretarial support staff for Parking and Security.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. 
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in a service-oriented industry are necessary.  
  • Background should include two to four years of supervisory experience, preferably in a health care field.  
  • Must possess adequate computer and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to develop and implement departmental plans and procedures.
