UPMC's Center for Emergency Medicine STAT MedEvac group is looking for a full-time Avionics Systems Integration Specialist. This is a Monday-Friday role with some on-call duty.

Manage helicopter fleet avionics inspections, repairs, and subscription services. Integrate new aircraft avionics systems to existing fleet. Manage avionics completion on newly purchased aircraft.

  • Provide current status of Avionics inspections for Aircraft fleet to Fixed Base Manager
  • Schedule and monitor aircraft fleet avionics upgrades
  • Monitor all avionics systems license subscriptions
  • Work with Fixed Base Manager for STC and Form 337 approvals
  • May perform 91.411 and 91.413 inspections
  • Provide assistance to all technicians for electrical and avionics troubleshooting for aircraft
  • Direct technicians on system installations
  • Perform as Primary Base Mechanic as needed


  • Airframe and Powerplant license required
  • FCC license or equivalent experience preferred
  • Inspection Authorization preferred
  • 5 years Aviation Maintenance experience required
  • Digital two-way FM communication programming experience
  • FAR 91.411 and FAR 91.413 qualified
  • Knowledge of ADS-B transponder programming
  • STC development or Field Approved Form 337 experience
  • Flight Data Monitoring System integration experience 
  • Excellent Avionics and Electrical systems troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent electrical system repair skills
  • 4 axis autopilot system experience preferred
  • Previous Avionics system installation experience
  • Aircraft ground-based computer systems knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous Leadership experience
  • Previous Helicopter experience
  • Management of aircraft fleet system installation experience 
  • Experience on Helionix equipped aircraft to include Map and Nav Data uploads, Software loading, and Flight file downloading preferred
  • Garmin Aviation systems integration preferred
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • A&P License
  • Act 34
