This dynamic role would assist our hospital teams with various screener and observation responsibilities during times of high need for approximately 50% of your scheduled time. During the other 50% of your time you’ll explore and support other areas throughout the hospital including: Environmental Services, Nutrition Services, Sterile Processing, Administration and Patient Care. As change occurs, this role will be required to quickly adapt and help where needed throughout our hospital locations.
This full-time temporary role is a three-month long assignment located at St. Margaret’s hospital and rotating onto various shifts. If you pride yourself on your ability to learn quickly, think innovatively, and be a team player, this is a great opportunity for you!

Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist any staff and visitors
• Identify safe entry to the facility by asking provided screening questions
• Ensure temperature is taken by automated thermometer
• Escort visitor to destination
• Provide proper PPE when necessary including mask
• May sit outside patient rooms to observe patient / staff for proper PPE and hand hygiene usage
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply.
• Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures.
• Serves patient meal tray using the designated department script, to include proper patient identification.
• Distributes and collects menus from patients; obtains selected menus from patients according to departmental procedures.
• Serves meals within established timeframes, adhering to departmental standards for appearance, food quality, and temperature control.
• Prepares and assembles surgical tray and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing.
• Cleans and decontaminates reusable equipment, instruments, and supplies, manually and mechanically.
• Maintain neat and organized files and electronic databases
• Support all department personnel with duties including but not limited to answering phones, taking messages, copying, filing and faxing
• Data entry of various documents
• Performs other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as may be required to meet emergency situations
Qualifications
- High School Diploma Strongly Preferred
- Post-secondary education is preferred
- One year of administrative support working experience is preferred.
- General knowledge and experience with office equipment such as copiers, multi-line phone systems, fax machines and paging systems
- Data entry experience preferred
