Purpose:

The Construction Project Manager will manage the construction process to provide a competitive, accurate, timely and highest of quality product for user group satisfaction under the general direction of the Program Director, Construction.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with construction management personnel, supply chain management personnel, outside vendors, contractors and design professionals to assure comprehensive satisfaction of the end user for all projects assigned.
  • Schedule and coordinate all Department of Health inspections and certifications.
  • Liaison with architects/engineers as required through the design and construction process.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all ICRA requirements.
  • Complete all necessary/required paperwork essential for all phases the projects in compliance with the established policies and procedures.
  • Manage day-to-day activities related to a variety of construction projects performing all duties in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assure satisfactory completion of every project assigned including the completion of punch lists, phone and data installation, furniture and equipment placement and move-in.
  • Assure that all construction activities are carried out in a safe and secure manner and that all relevant regulatory requirements are met.
  • Oversee activities and performance of outside contractor forces in accomplishing contracted work.
  • Maintain budget and schedule for all projects assigned.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the existing facilities and their utilization on all UPMC Hospital campuses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or closely related field and three years construction management experience; or eight years experience in construction management is required.
    • Hospital construction management experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Registration for Architecture or Engineering preferred.

Clearances must be dated within 90 days

  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
