This is full-time position for either a Registered Nurse (RN) or Physical Therapist (PT).  This role does require occasional travel and an oncall rotation every eighth week.

Responsible for aspects of planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to clinical information systems along with direct supervision of Data Application Specialists.

  • Identify, develop and participate in process improvement opportunities within the home health agency that will enhance the quality of the services we provide.
  • Responsible for evaluation and development of training and in-service programs as they relate to home care systems and oversight of the Data 
  • Application Specialist position.
  • Responsible for researching and responding to concerns from users or others impacted by the system and provide proactive user support including but not limited to training and education.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding and working knowledge of the current home care systems from referral thru billing/payroll and its relationship to other information systems within the enterprise.
  • Implement and maintain clinical information systems security and confidentiality mechanisms in accordance with user and or facility policies and procedures.
  • Focus on customer service and continually strives to perform the duties of their job in a manner that will result in optimal patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of clinical policies and procedures, home care regulations, current trends and issues in healthcare and informatics.
  • Act as a liaison to home care management to communicate and facilitate the ongoing progress of the development, implementation and revision of home care information systems.
  • Collaborate with the Data Systems Application Manager in evaluation of development efforts in planning pilot and full implementations of new features and in processing user feedback/requests on weekly basis.
  • Perform duties and job responsibilities in a fashion which coincides with the service management philosophy of UPMC/Jefferson Regional Home Health, L.P. towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians and other departments within the organization.


Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or physical therapy - Required
BSN - Preferred
Minimum three (3) years experience in a health care institution - Required
Minimum one (1) year experience in clinical information systems as a team member, trainer or end user - Required
Minimum one (1) year home care experience - Required
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Required
Occasional Travel is Required

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Physical Therapist (PT) OR Registered Nurse (RN)
