Description

The working foreman carpenter is responsible for the daily supervision of all employees assigned. The working foreman carpenter is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all structural and architectural walls, partitions, floors, ceilings, fixtures and performs minor furniture repairs as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts quarterly safety meetings.
  • Exhibits, both verbally and behaviorally, a commitment to the values of service excellence in carrying out on-going duties.
  • Works within the budgetary limitations of the carpenter shop.
  • Responsible for installation of wall and ceiling systems in adherence to all applicable codes and standards.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance of all rated drywall, block wall systems and repair according to UL and manufacturers specs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Maintains current MSDS in area and for personnel assigned.
  • Completion of employee performance appraisals.
  • Adheres to the Basics of Service Excellence in all interactions with clients and the public.
  • Maintains a positive outlook and interactions with co-workers, which contribute to the team effort of the department.
  • Completion of work orders of assigned employees.
  • Abides by the policies and procedures of the hospital and department.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance/repair of all rated door systems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.  
  • Trade school, Vo-Tech or union approved apprenticeship preferred. 
  • Seven (7) years journeyman experience with at least two (2) supervisory preferred.
