Description

UPMC Health Plan is hiring a temporary Registered Nurse to help support the My Health @ Work departments COVID-19 response efforts. This position will primarily support the Employee Health Nursing hotline and the many functions supporting the UPMC workforce. This position is remote and would work varying daylight and evening shifts

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates laboratory results and initiates appropriate interventions and/or notifications.

  • Provides education and counseling to staff throughout the evaluation and treatment process.

  • Coordinates employee health efforts with various departments as needed, including for example: Human Resources, Infection Control, Safety and Administration.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all medical information, and documents interventions and treatment in the appropriate database / medical record system.

  • Assists with efforts and interventions to ensure regulatory compliance (i.e. JCAHO, Department of Health, OSHA, etc.)

  • Supports quality improvement, cost containment, and customer service oriented initiatives of the organization.

  • Provides education to employees on exposure management and infection prevention efforts

  • Collaborates with Physician or other Advanced Practice Providers and other nurses to arrange for further medical treatment when needed

  • Shares questions and concerns appropriately with supervisor and/or administration.

  • Input data and tests, including all services provided, into the database programs for coordination and tracking.


 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current Pennsylvania licensure required

  • Minimum 1yrs. clinical experience is highly preferred, would consider new graduate with appropriate clinical experience and background

  • BSN, or equivalent professional and/or educational experience is preferred


Licenses and Certifications
  • • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • • Registered Nurse (RN)
