Description
Purpose:Under the general guidance and direction of the Manager of Operation, performs a variety of painting, construction, repair and maintenance services in and around the buildings of the hospital complex.
Responsibilities:
- Remove snow and ice.
- Erect scaffolding or ladders, speard cloth or canvas over floor and furniture for protection.
- Smooth or prep surfaces using sandpaper, wire brushes, or steel wool.
- Smoothes surfaces using sandpaper, putty knives, wet sponge, etc.
- Cleaning and maintaining of all equipment necessary to perform any painting task.
- Remove old paint from surfaces using paint remover, scrapers, and wire brushes.
- Paint surfaces using brushes, spray guns, or paint rollers as necessary.
- Install and repair wall covering.
- Record time and material expended.
- Wash walls when necessary
- Prepares drywall wall board system with smooth finish for paint.
- Select pre-mixed paints or prepare paint to match specified colors by blending and mixing required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances.
- Properly fill joints, nails and screw holes and cracks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Trade or vocational school degree plus 4 year apprenticeship required.
- Minimum of three years full-time experience as a painter in industry, commercial or an institution
- May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
- No contact with medications is allowed.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Driver's License
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance
