Description

The Manager, Supplier Diversity & Inclusion reports to the Director, Supplier Diversity and Inclusion, and is responsible for managing the Supplier Diversity & Inclusion Program (SDIP), including its strategies and initiatives, and consults with the UPMC Insurance Services Division (ISD) Small Diverse Business (SDB) Program team. Provides strategic direction and guidance for the management of diverse certified business partners (Minority, Women, Disabled, Veteran and Disabled Veteran, LGBTQ, etc.), and diversity spend, system-wide.

UPMC’s Center for Engagement and Inclusion executes leading-edge and next-generation strategies to advance its diversity management capabilities and national presence as a diversity leader. These strategies include Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), including the Diversity Leadership Network and PRIDE Health, which offer networking and development opportunities and promote volunteerism in diverse communities.


Responsibilities:
  • Participate in design, development, and implementation of Supplier Diversity & Inclusion Program (SDIP) processes, strategies and initiatives.
  • Assist director with analyzing, benchmarking, and preparing SDIP spends reports, training and presentations.
  • Manage the UPMC Supply Chain second- tier diverse vendor reporting process
  • Assist in managing the UPMC Supplier Diversity Web Portal.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with diverse vendors and suppliers.
  • Assist director in the development and documentation of processes, standards, procedures, and policies for SDIP .
  • Serve as consultant to Small Diverse Business (SDB) Program leadership within the UPMC Insurance Services Division .
  • Consult in analysis and development of responses for the UPMC Insurance Services Division's government requests for proposals (RFP) SDB subcontracting plans for both contract renewals and new business opportunities.
  • Assist with the response strategy and work with departmental leaders in the development of the RFP collateral materials.
  • Consult in development and implementation of SDB subcontracting plans for all ISD affiliates.
  • Function as a subject matter expert on MWDBE Federal, State and Local regulatory compliance and reporting.
  • Assist in coordination of all SDIP and ISD internal and external diverse business partner events and activities.
  • Monitor technological advancements and industry trends and makes recommendations for improvements in the SDIP and the Insurance Services Division SDB Initiative.
  • Represent UPMC through participation in internal /external meetings, seminars, committees, trade shows and exhibits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Business, SCM, Supplier Diversity or related field is required. 
  • MBA preferred. 
  • Eight plus years of experience in Supplier Diversity, SCM or related area is required. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent client service skills and proven ability to deal effectively with vendors. 
  • Ability to effectively manage tasks, establish priorities, make decisions, and follow issues through to resolution as directed. 
  • Highly motivated, detail and results-oriented. 
  • Ability to function in a high-pressure environment with minimal supervision.
  • Dependability and professionalism.
