Telemedicine is growing and we have an opportunity available for a Student Worker. The Student Worker position will assist through the portal helpdesk and is a great opportunity for a current college student to gain experience in the medical field.Purpose:
This entry level position provides basic data entry and/or clerical support. The Student Worker will be responsible for educating, marketing and enrolling patients in our patient portal for access to their online medical records. Promote and sell the benefits of the portals with enthusiasm and learn the technology to be able to get a patient set up and begin using the portal. Handles support and follow up questions and calls for our hospital and outpatient patient portals. Supports the creation and updating of marketing materials and online messaging.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will interact with other employees and provide assistance for routine tasks
- Perform routine tasks under the guidance of the department manager/supervisor.
- Uses sales and marketing skills to promote and sell the benefits of the patient portal
- Daily contact in person with corporate managers, hospital departments and medical staff, patients, colleagues, and community members.
- Must be comfortable working in a hospital setting and visiting patients in their rooms
- Represents system in community in a professional manner.
- Must have the ability to maintain positive working relationship and deal discreetly with confidential information.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Serves as point person for offices to get updated patient portal materials and/or support needs
- Registers a patient to all three of our patient portals
- Assists in the promotional creative marketing campaigns for the patient portal
- Assists with reporting and metrics associated to patient portal registrants
- Assists with support and follow up questions from users
- Assists with website and social media updates related to the portal
- Assists with reputation management related to the portal
- Back up for marketing website updates, reputation management and social media
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a High School program, equivalent, or higher, required.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, interactive strategies, public relations, communications, computer science or related field, or equivalent knowledge preferred.
- The candidate will have a working knowledge of the Microsoft system.
- Related experience to the program/study/research is preferred.
- Candidate should have an interest in field of study.
- The successful candidate must be able to work within a team environment under direct supervision.
- The candidate must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
- The candidate must be able to perform routine tasks under the guidance of senior staff.
- Experience in web/new media writing, medical science writing education or experience a plus.
- Basic computer knowledge preferred.
- Strong communication skills, including attention to detail preferred.
- Goal-oriented with a high sense of urgency to drive delivery of content against tight deadlines preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
