Description
- Site Lead shall participate in the Quality Assurance programs for the UPMC Urgent Care at Franklin and Hermitage and shall faithfully perform each and every duty which may be incumbent upon him(er) to perform as necessary to ensure the UPMC Urgent Care at Franklin and Hermitage comply with all applicable accrediting and licensing requirements, including without limitation, the requirements and standards established from time-to-time by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and CMS.
- Site Lead shall ensure that all UPMC Urgent Care at Franklin and Hermitage / UPMC Human Resource policies are followed.
- Site Lead submits yearly evaluations in writing for their Providers and then provides input on yearly evaluations for staff.
- Site Lead is responsible for orienting any new provider in their clinic to UPP policies and procedures and EPIC work flow.
- Site Lead will participate in UPP administrative meetings as requested from time to time.
- Site Lead shall schedule quarterly staff meetings at their sites. Meeting minutes should be kept on file and a copy forwarded to UPP Emergency Medicine.
- Site Lead shall take responsibility for evaluating and answering all complaints and inquiries of patients concerning professional medical services in the UPMC Urgent Care at Franklin and Hermitage. In addition, Site Lead shall furnish UPP Emergency Medicine with a written analysis of each such complaint, and shall include in the analysis any actions recommended by the Site Lead for the purpose of improving any deficiencies, as appropriate.
- Site Lead shall have the responsibility for creating the work schedule of physicians and physician extenders (when applicable) in consultation with Emergency Medicine. Site Lead shall be responsible for ensuring the adequate coverage of the UPMC Urgent Care at Franklin and Hermitage by credentialed physicians and physician extenders. The UPMC Urgent Care at Franklin and Hermitage shall be staffed according to the budgeted hours. All overtime should be kept in line with the budgeted overtime for that year. Upon consultation with Emergency Medicine, the Site Lead shall schedule additional coverage as required by patient load demands.
- Site Lead is the first level of contact to arrange emergency call off coverage. The use of the Urgent Care Schedule Coordinator and Chief of Urgent Care Services will serve as back up when securing coverage is problematic. The Site Lead is also responsible for approving site providers’ vacation requests and personal days off requests based on current UPP policy.
- Site Lead shall have the responsibility of improving provider documentation by providing individual or group in-services to the providers as well as documentation deficiency reports.
- Site Lead will sign off on charts seen by APP in their clinic.
- Site Lead will serve as lab director for their designated site.
- Site Lead, while working their regular shifts, will participate in the back up consultation schedule for APP’s working without physician back up.
- Assist in Marketing efforts for UPMC Urgent Care at Franklin and Hermitage at the request of the Chair and Vice Chair.
- Attend Urgent Care and/or Occupational Medicine education programs at request of the Chair and Vice Chair.
- Site Lead shall perform all other duties as assigned by UPP Emergency Medicine.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications: Licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania- Registered Federal DEA without restrictions
- Good standing with the Medical Board of Pennsylvania
- Board prepared or certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Surgery
- Completed an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Surgery
- Proven administrative skills
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
