Health Fitness Technician

Description

Purpose:
Assist the Health Fitness Specialist in the delivery of Wellness services. Emphasis is on customer service and exercise supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of health education activities and special events.
  • Review proper exercise techniques with members; supervise member workouts. Identify and correct unsafe conditions and practices related to exercise participation under the direction of a Health Fitness Specialist.
  • Complete registration and enrollment on new members and class participants.
  • Demonstrate efficient use of time, materials, equipment, supplies and available resources cost effectively.
  • Exhibit integrity, courtesy, and respect for others.
  • Perform weekly ordering of supplies necessary to maintain the center.
  • Promote the hospital's image and maintain a positive and helpful attitude toward employees, physicians, visitors, and the community to enhance the hospital's reputation as a health care center.
  • Assist in the development and achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Report attendance for the completion of monthly statistical volume reports.
  • Present self in a positive manner reflected by personal attire and etiquette.
  • Maintain professional, pleasant and effective communications both internally and externally.
  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning maintenance on all equipment according to policies and procedures.
  • Monitor client safety by taking blood pressures, blood glucose and heart rates, as requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality of hospital and department information with no infractions.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport and cooperative relationship with medical staff, co-workers, supervisors and others.
  • Provide factual information on current prices, policies, programs and services available tovarious target groups.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience dealing with customer service and fitness background preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
