The Manager provides leadership to the day to day operation, support, development, installation, and delivery of technology products and services within the department or business unit.  The Manager is responsible for, in conjunction with the Business Analytics leadership team, managing all aspects of data collection and data usage which supports the day to day and strategic operations of the Department/Business Unit. This includes, but is not limited to, development of reporting mechanisms, development of complex data models, development of data visualization tools, supervision of analytical staff, and analytical support for business development activities. In addition, assists the CIO and the Executive leadership team with any special projects requiring data analysis.

  • Manages a single team function of individual contributors.
  • Facilitates successful completion of projects, tasks, and initiatives by embracing a team-first approach. Works in collaboration with multiple teams and offers feedback, where appropriate, to complete individual and group efforts.
  • Identify, create and apply process improvement to increase product and service quality to achieve business objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring that service is provided to the ISD client community, patients, families and visitors, while protecting the integrity and confidentiality of all data and information through physical and electronic measures.
  • Contributes to department's short-term strategy and goals.
  • Responsible for demonstrating appropriate, clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications in all interactions to build relationships and accomplish day to day work and projects within department.
  • Responsible for continuous self-study, trainings, partnering with management, and/or seeking out opportunities to broaden scope to stay up to date with industry and organizational trends. Seeks feedback from management and team for development and effectively incorporates feedback into work and behaviors.
  • Completes performance evaluations and coaches/mentors staff.
  • Provides input on budget planning. Responsible for managing to budget.


  • Nine years of total related experience, with at least two years' experience in a leadership role is required.
    •  OR equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Analytics and Visualization, or related field.  
    • Master’s degree highly preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in quantitative methods or other relevant work (Strong mathematics and science background with sound analytical/computational skills preferred)

  • Strong project management, problem solving, organizational, relationship, communication, and negotiation skills (oral and written) are required.
  •  Strong understanding of IT strategy and how it relates to business objectives. Ability to apply extensive experience to highly complex problems.
Additional position information:

  • Demonstrated ability in utilizing data visualization techniques for presenting data to Executives and other key decision-makers
  • Healthcare domain knowledge preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization tools is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL is preference. 
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as, but not limited to: Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, SAS, R, or Statistica is desired.
  • Experience with SQL Server and Oracle is required.
  • Ability to design programs to analyze complicated scenarios.
  • Experience with machine learning models highly desired.
  • Knowledge of statistical and reporting methodologies.
  • Ability to design programs to analyze complicated scenarios.
