In this role, you'll work collaboratively with leadership in Information Systems, Finance, Physician and Professional Services, Human Resources, Health Information Management and other departments throughout the organization as appropriate to integrate and evaluate business processes and systems that support business operations and management. You will also provide direction to Informatics Analysts enabling them to meet departmental and organizational objectives.  

As a leader, you will oversee a large team of employees that span from entry level to leadership roles.  You will oversee revenue cycle operations which includes hospital billing, ambulatory billing, outpatient scheduling, patient registration, and much more.

Responsibilities:
  • Organizes, prioritizes, and modifies activities of Business Informatics to achieve identified goals and objectives. Determines level of personnel necessary for efficient, effective implementation of business and financial information systems. Assigns, defines and delegates responsibilities and authority to personnel consistent with their capabilities and potential.
  • Maintains open, productive communication with the Chief Information Officer and representatives throughout the organization and in the community. Conducts regular meetings with staff to ensure timely, relevant dissemination of information, identification of concerns, and active problem solving of pertinent issues. Promotes and maintains positive, productive partnerships inter- and intradepartmental to encourage effective collaboration. Provides consultation related to processes and clinical information systems.
  • Utilizing the principles of Six Sigma, monitors systems, analyzes processes, evaluates outcomes and recommends revisions. Ensures that appropriate systems are in place to support the clinical staff. Reports regularly to the Chief Information Officer accomplishment of goals, objectives and variance in budget.
  • Understands technology trends and government initiatives related to healthcare and business operations. Works closely with the Chief Information Officer and representative (Senior) Vice President, Director and Manager level customers to develop the information strategic plan. Responsible for the development of short and long range goals for Business Informatics consistent with the mission, vision and values. Plans/revises, develops, and implements objectives in response to identified needs. Interfaces with leadership to identify business and financial information needs to support overall operations of the lines of services supported. Coordinates appropriate team to plan for and implement business and financial information systems. 
  • Prepares Business Informatics budget. Reviews resource utilization and budget activities to ensure compliance with budget parameters including oversight of related expenses resident in the general Information Services budget. Integrates appropriate business and financial practice standards when planning and implementing systems. Understands the business fundamentals and drivers of the financial and operational success of PinnacleHealth. 
  • Effectively leads high performance teams and drives results through motivation and communication. Develops and revises administrative policies and procedures related to the business and financial information systems. Assists business informatics staff in developing goals and objectives. Assists business informatics staff in developing realistic project plans and reviews the progress of these plans.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related Health Care field with ten (10) years progressive experience in health care finance or operations required or Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration with fifteen (15) years progressive experience in health care finance or operations required. 
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills. 
  • Must have experience with process improvement and project management.
  • EPIC experience is preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Clearances must be dated within 90 days

  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
