UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Part-time Research Tech Clinical Research!

 

This position will work primarily 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

 
This position is grant funded.

This department works on NIH funded research projects focusing on obstetrical research that is pharmacology based. You will be screening/recruiting research subjects, preparing and performing study visits, completing questionnaires/phone calls to subjects, entering data, and completing blood draws after being trained. 


Under supervision, the Research Tech Clinical Research is responsible for accurately performing research projects according to established study design and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe clean laboratory-working environment including appropriate equipment maintenance and usage, by conforming to laboratory and Hospital policies and standards.
  • Administer questionnaires and assist with procedures for obtaining patient screening and recruitment as well as obtaining research specimens.
  • Assist in performing research protocol experimental procedures, under close supervision, including appropriate collection, recording, storage and analysis of data.
  • Prepare, label, store and dispose of reagents and calibrates equipment for research projects.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory, including timely ordering and receipt of required supplies and their proper storage.
  • Assist in obtaining educational resources necessary to perform and interpret research and to remain abreast in research area of function.
  • Follow appropriate research policies and procedures including all applicable laws and regulations and maintain scientific integrity including accurate data storage.
  • Responsible for following the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any patient.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of college training or one year of experience working within a biomedical research laboratory environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately collect, store and interpret research data.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with patients, staff, and investigators.
