UPMC Altoona is hiring a Registered Nurse to join its Dialysis department! As a member of this team, you will provide direct and indirect care to patients utilizing the nursing process, leadership for the nursing team, and contribute to the education of a variety of members of the staff and students.
*This position holds a set pay rate of $30.00/hour*
The Acute Dialysis Unit is a 5-bed unit that serves the adult population requiring dialysis or plasmapheresis services. The Acute Dialysis Unit allows the nurse to function in an acute care setting as well as collaborating with our Intensive Care, Progressive Care, and Med-Surg team to serve our critically ill patients. We provide services to inpatients, observation, emergency patients, and outpatient-post procedure. Services include hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis (CAPD and CCPD) for acute, chronic, and transient patients on a 24 hour, seven days per week basis. Plasmapheresis is also provided by our exceptional staff; short and long term.

Responsibilities:
- Document/records appropriate information required in performance of responsibilities in relation to the job description.
- General nursing ability.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to adapt to clinical treatment and instructional aspect of care to all stages of the life cycle and to various states of health and disease.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year experience.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
