Intake Coordinator- WorkPartners

Description

UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Intake Coordinator to help support the WorkPartners Department. This is a Monday through Friday daylight position.


The Intake Coordinator will assist callers with the submission of Short-Term Disability, Leave Management, Worker's Compensation or Commercial Worker's Compensation claims. In addition, they will answer questions, provide information appropriate, direct customer inquiries to the appropriate claim handler and direct customer complaints to the appropriate unit or supervisor.

This role will be remote. 

Responsibilities:

  • Answering inbound calls and assisting customers who have inquiries or questions regarding Short-Term Disability, Leave Management , Worker's Compensation or Commercial Worker's Compensation in a professional manner.
  • Completing call logs and call reports as necessary.
  • Must be flexible with responsibilities and have an exceptional ability to multitask.
  • Ability to research required information using all available resources.
  • Managing administration, communication and coordination with internal departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality across all business lines
  • Assisting callers with questions on or the submission of Short-Term Disability, Leave Management, Worker's Compensation or Commercial Worker's Compensation claims.
  • Identifying and escalating priority issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Route inbound calls to the appropriate teams.
  • Direct customer complaints to the appropriate unit or supervisor.
  • Serve as a mentor and/or coach as assigned for newly hired and existing staff members to ensure service excellence

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of at least one of the following; health insurance experience, internal customer service, call center experience, claim processing and/or claims adjustments. 
  • 2 years Health insurance call center experience strongly preferred 
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude at all times. 
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology, preferred 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in typing is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced intake environment is a must
  • Ability to effectively listen
  • Excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal, and typing skills
