Description
Purpose:Under minimal supervision, responsible for the most complex accounting activities associated with maintaining general ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports. This position will be responsible for the accounting and financial statement preparation for multiple joint ventures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares general ledger account reconciliations for designated accounts. Proposes correcting entries.
- Prepares and posts complex monthly journal entries.
- Prepares analysis for annual audit.
- Acts as a mentor for accountants or administrative staff.
- Acts a liaison for the department in meetings with management.
- Prepares reconciliation of actual to budget variance analysis.
- Develops administrative tasks, special projects and training programs as assigned.
- Act as the main contact for each administrator at the joint venture for daily questions.
- Responsible for preparing annual audit and tax workpapers.
- Main contact for the accounting and tax firms that partner with UPMC for the joint ventures.
- Will be required to attend monthly board meetings to present financial statements to the board.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.
- Minimum of three years of related work experience required.
- CPA/MBA preferred.
- Microsoft Office spreadsheet application required and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
