Description
Responsibilities:
- Present and provide communication in regards to knowledge of data and projects to internal and external audiences in support of Surgical Oncology Services' mission as well as demonstrate service-oriented behavior in interactions with clients, co-workers, and other staff.
- Provide reports, databases, presentations, and track data on referring specialists in the region as required by management weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Coordinate referrals from outside facilities and practices to the UPMC programs to ensure smooth and organized service to the patients, families and physicians as well as reporting to administrative and physician leadership regarding progress, outcomes, and qualitative feedback from target audiences.
- Promote Surgical Oncology Services within the regional referring geographical area by educating referring physicians about services and technologies offered, providing stellar customer service for physicians and patients by communicating with referral sources via phone,email, as well as involving local, regional, and national travel.
- Work with UPMC physicians, marketing staff, and all other available resources to develop market research and analysis, identification of marketing opportunities, relationship development with referral sources, and development of marketing tools that are creative, well organized, concise, and stylistically appropriate to the audience and purpose.
- Schedule and coordinate lectures, CMEs, screenings, conferences, and other special events involving local, regional, and national travel.
- Assist with planning, researching, writing, editing copy of letters, newsletters, brochures, marketing communications, and other projects as assigned.
- Project management of varying levels of complexity and sophistication to include prioritizing, delivering, and multi-tasking of projects within time and budget.
- Participate in the development of department policies and procedures with management based on quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop a strong understanding of reimbursement and insurance trends regarding Surgical Oncology Services as a way to increase referrals into the programs as well as keeping abreast of the health care industry, regional and local news.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related field required.
- 3 years experience in the Oncology field preferred.
- 3 years Nursing or Pharmacological Sales background required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain credibility in the market place.
- Excellent written, oral, organizational, analytical and presentation skills
