UPMC Altoona is hiring a Registered Nurse to help support the Surgical Trauma ICU!

STICU is a 12-bed intensive care unit that cares for a diverse population of patients, with a specialty in trauma. Our unit also cares for surgical and medical patients that are critically ill and need specialized care. The atmosphere allows nurses to develop relationships with patients and families.

Our team has been recognized for their exceptional teamwork. The nurses work collaboratively with the surgeons and intensivists. Multidisciplinary rounds allow your voice to be heard. As a member of this team you will provides direct and indirect care to patients utilizing the nursing process. You will also provide leadership for the nursing team and contribute to the education of a variety of members of the staff and students.


Responsibilities:
  • Document/records appropriate information required in performance of responsibilities in relation to the job description.
  • General nursing ability.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to adapt to clinical treatment and instructional aspect of care to all stages of the life cycle and to various states of health and disease.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Act 34
