Training Specialist HPL

Description

The UPMC Health Plan is currently hiring for a full-time Training Specialist to support our Claim Operations Teams!

The Training Specialist is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, and delivering training for HealthPlaNET and phone systems for new and existing employees within the Insurance Services Division.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares training materials for upcoming sessions. Assures that an adequate supply of manuals is always on hand. Prepares educational documents related to workflows and enhancements. Assures that the HealthPlaNET training manual is up to date and changes are adequately tracked.
  • Sends out surveys to assess the effectiveness of the training department.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of electronic education materials for individual self learning.
  • Assist in the development of new materials by attending process flow meetings or participating in system testing.
  • Keep track of annual review for all training materials currently utilized by the department. Assist with facilitating the review and potential revision of these materials.
  • Assembles and implements departmental policy and procedure and standard operating guidelines
  • Maintain training calendar and responsibility for securing training rooms.
  • Maintains work activity reports, employee training profiles, and submits reports as required. Responsible for assisting with the completion of the monthly directors report.
  • Responsible for tracking all requests in the Ulearn system and keeping training records for audits. Including sign in rosters and employee participation documentation.
  • Delivers training related to HealthPlaNET and phone systems. Assists train the trainers as necessary.
  • Completes special projects and performs related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a positive classroom environment for staff members, to support the experience, skill, knowledge and capabilities of employees.
  • Responsible for maintaining the educational department shared point site, z drive and placement of materials of DRC.
  • Produce quick tips, memos and other training documentation as required to provide up to date information related to system enhancements and modifications.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding new program requirements and costs.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the training process, including industry research materials development, program delivery, student testing, and assessment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or other related field preferred
  • Two years of direct experience in Managed Care and / or Indemnity environment with at least 1 year of experience in delivery of staff training programs or related experience.
  • Experience in methods and techniques of adult education with demonstrated success.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and independent decision-making abilities.
  • Expert process and project management skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is essential.

  • Act 34
