Description
Purpose:May perform imaging procedures at a technical level under the supervision of a registered technologist, incorporating learning and education with the performance of tasks to assist the technologist in their responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Creates Cardiovascular MR, Echo, Nuclear Cardiology, or Vascular exams and enters patient information in the Cardiology or Vascular Information Systems.
- Assist Technologist in performing modality specific exams.
- Depending on modality, may utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction and documentation of image data and completes procedures according to protocol under the supervision of a Technologist.
- May assist Technologist in setting up contrast in Cardiovascular MR however, will never be responsible for loading or priming the injector.
- Assist with positioning and performing exams.
- Follows Radiation Safety standards and protocols for Nuclear Cardiology.
- May perform daily equipment inspections and quality control under supervision of a Technologist.
- Maintain clinical proficiency for all completed competencies and equipment skills.
Qualifications
Must be an active 2nd year student in ARRT, ARDMS, CNMT, or NMCTB approved school.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation OR Basic Life Support CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
