Secretary-Receptionist Outpatient Surgery
Fulltime - 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Minimum pay rate is $12.04. Experience credit available.
Serves as receptionist for the Operating Room Division (Operating Room, Same Day Surgery and Endoscopy); answering the telephone, taking and delivering messages and greeting and directing guests and visitors to the appropriate area.
Responsibilities:
- Processes patient charges accurately.
- Functions as unit receptionist and hostess and coordinates clerical tasks essential to the operation of the unit.
- Processes requests for patient services from other departments as required.
- Maintains a well-organized, centrally located area of patient information for physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services.
- Obtains laboratory results as necessary.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of computer terminal operations.
- Carries out other related activities as required by the hospital to insure quality patient care.
- Answers telephone promptly and courteously and maintains free-flowing and accurate communications.
- Informs surgeons of their starting times for the next days operative schedule and notifies the radiology department and the laboratory when appropriate
Qualifications
Education and formal training required :- High school graduate.
- Formal medical Terminology Course required.
- Medical Secretary training preferred.
- Prefer two years as a Secretary/Receptionist in the Medical Field
