Description
A Project Construction Manager manages the construction process to provide a competitive, accurate, timely and highest of quality product for user group satisfaction under the general direction of the Program Director, Construction.
Purpose:
Manage the construction process to provide a competitive, accurate, timely and highest of quality product for user group satisfaction under the general direction of the Program Director, Construction.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with construction management personnel, supply chain management personnel, outside vendors, contractors and design professionals to assure comprehensive satisfaction of the end user for all projects assigned.
- Schedule and coordinate all Department of Health inspections and certifications.
- Liaison with architects/engineers as required through the design and construction process.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all ICRA requirements.
- Complete all necessary/required paperwork essential for all phases the projects in compliance with the established policies and procedures.
- Manage day-to-day activities related to a variety of construction projects performing all duties in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Assure satisfactory completion of every project assigned including the completion of punch lists, phone and data installation, furniture and equipment placement and move-in.
- Assure that all construction activities are carried out in a safe and secure manner and that all relevant regulatory requirements are met.
- Oversee activities and performance of outside contractor forces in accomplishing contracted work.
- Maintain budget and schedule for all projects assigned.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the existing facilities and their utilization on all UPMC Hospital campuses.
Qualifications
B.A. or B.S. degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or closely related field and 3 years construction management experience; or 8 years experience in construction management is requiredLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Registration for Architecture or Engineering preferred.
