Research Project Clinician

Description

Purpose:
The Mood Disorders Early Intervention Research Group is focused on the clinical and neural trajectories of risk for mood disorders, particularly bipolar disorder. We are also focused on understanding mechanisms for early interventions, such as mindfulness interventions, that may change these trajectories. Principal Investigator Dr. Danella Hafeman is a child psychiatrist, trained mindfulness instructor, and epidemiologist and neuroscientist. The Research Project Clinician will be conducting virtual mindfulness groups with youth 11-14 years old at-risk for mood disorders.

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research-designed mindfulness intervention with participants.
  • Attend and actively participate in therapist supervision meetings.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Arts/Sciences in Psychology, or related field required. 
  • Three years of postgraduate clinician experience in interviewing, counseling, and assessment required.
  • Prior training in structured diagnostic clinical interviews preferred.
  • Computer and word processing skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of DSM-IV required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Current PA license in psychology (or ability to qualify for PA license) preferred.
