Description
Purpose:
Responsible for the planning, coordination and overall administrative and financial responsibility of the organization. Oversees and manages the day-to-day operations. Responsible for providing focus and direction of the local market place.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring the organization operates in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
- Targets additional business opportunities.
- Oversees the personnel needs of the organization.
- Negotiates facility contracts.
- Responsible for the development and attainment of the Short Term and Long Term goals of Pharmacy locations
- Identifies new products and services in the Long Term Care and Hospital Pharmacy market.
- Ensures the integration of Chartwell with all other UPMC business units.
- Negotiates and manages sub-contract relationships.
- Guides, directs and counsels the Management Team of all branches of business unit
- Develops the annual personnel, operating and capital budget for business unit. Monitors actual performance to budget and takes action to improve as needed.
- Responsible for the development and achievement of the Pharmacy Strategic Business and Sales Plan in conjunction with the UPMC Health System.
- Identifies, develops and participates in process improvement opportunities within the business unit that enhance the quality of the services we provide.
- Provide the Long term Care, Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy leadership and expertise for the UPMC Health System.
- Focuses on customer service and continually strives to perform the duties of the job in a manner that will result in optimal patient/client satisfaction.
- Assumes full profit and loss responsibility for the business unit.
- Ensures Community Provider Services and UPMC Health System Policy and Procedures are followed.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations.
Qualifications
- Masters of Pharmacy or Pharm D required
- 7 years of management experience required, to include leadership, communication and sales skills, reimbursement and government relations.
- Long Term Care Pharmacy experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Pharmacist
