Description
Responsibilities:
- In the CTU, provide visual surveillance of numerous cardiac monitors simultaneously while maintaining 100% accuracy in terms of alarm recognition and notification; maintain alarms per policy; document notification of alerts.
- Support peer personnel in daily work assignments maintaining a constant awareness of the nature and volume of work and takes necessary actions to expedite coverage of responsibilities.
- Clean equipment on a shift basis.
- Stock supply areas and distribute inventory.
- Notify key personnel of manager of need for supplies and report need for equipment service and repair to manager, bio-med and IT.
- Responsible for personal job skill development and maintaining clinical expertise.
- Attend in-service education and skill development courses as offered.
- Promote and maintain desired public, interpersonal, and interdepartmental relationships and patient confidentiality.
- Is available to cover subsequent shift if staffing is inadequate.
- Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 6 months experience in a medical related field is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet the department's needs that include evenings, nights, weekends, holidays.
- Basic typing and computer skills are also required.
- Transcription skills are preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant or Cardiac Technician course preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
