Cardio Tech

Description

Monday - Friday 8am to 430pm

Purpose:
Provides physician with cardiac information via diagnostic testing

Responsibilities:
  • Perform and assist with Dobutamine stress tests in conjunction with the provider
  • Recognize lethal rhythms and begin treatment as needed until help arrives.
  • Back-up for holter monitor testing (application, removal).
  • Responsible for maintaining crash cart & defibrillator. Responsible for keeping all items up to date and keeping weekly log of cart inspection.
  • Recognize and assess patient for signs of cardiac compromise and alert provider.
  • Perform cardiac stress tests.
  • Perform and assist with Nuclear stress testing in conjunction with the nuclear med technician.
  • Locates patient information from EMR and confirms identity with that on the media provided by the patient.
  • Perform stress echo cardiogram tests.
  • Perform EKG's as ordered.

Qualifications

  • Must be graduate of an accredited clinical program. 
  • Cardiology Technician Program preferred. 
  • LPN's with appropriate training and experience will be considered. Must have experience and training with reading EKG strips and cardiac monitors. 
  • Two years experience in Cardiology or previous experience with cardiac stress testing is preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate required and must be maintained. ACLS certification must be obtained within one year after hire. 
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34
