Description
UPMC's Center for Emergency Medicine is hiring a Full-Time Medical Coordinator to support STAT MedEvac's Communications Center located at UPMC Presbyterian.

Purpose:
The Medical Coordinator is required to act as a facilitator in providing necessary assistance to customers and associated organizations. The Medical Coordinator is required to accurately obtain, process, and coordinate information necessary to maintain proficient organization operations.
Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls to the STAT-MD Communication Center, determining the emergent or non-emergent nature of the call and processing per departmental guidelines.
- Accurately and efficiently maintain file documentation, including transcribing information received during consultations with the physician. All documentation must be completed by the end of each shift.
- Coordinate communications between clients, customers, facilities, physicians, and/or associated personnel.
- Participate in daily quality assurance reviews as directed making changes based on departmental guidelines.
- Contact and coordinate with the appropriate supervisor for unusual operations.
- Working knowledge of the multiple communication methods utilized in the department.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a health care setting, transfer center, or call center is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must have strong computer keyboard skills and basic computer operating skills.
- Must have experience with spreadsheets and database software.
