Research Associate WPIC

Description

The Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities-Outpatient Programs, part of UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital, is hiring a full-time Research Associate to support several studies that focus on research for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities and to assist in the execution of research protocols.

The Research Associate will be responsible for patient chart reviews, study recruitment via telephone and/or face-to-face contact with potential study participants, data entry via different data entry platforms, setting up video presentations for faculty and other staff and otherwise assisting with ongoing research efforts.

This position is grant funded.


Responsibilities:

  • Data entry, via manual and electronic data capture
  • Clinical Chart Reviews
  • Participant recruitment including informed consent process
  • Maintain accurate documentation  
  • Reminder Calls to study participants
  • Study measure administration including questionnaires and scoring
  • Tracking study appointments
  • Assisting in planning events for family support groups
  • Interface with physicians and clinicians regarding potential study participants

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required preferably in psychology or related field.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
  • Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
  • Experience with IT including iOS and Android applications and teleconferencing strongly preferred.
  • Prior human subjects research experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills highly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written skills preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills preferred.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and independently as needed.

  • Act 33
  • Act 34
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
