Learning Specialist

Description

Purpose:
Working with a dynamic team, the Learning Specialist is responsible for ensuring the successful planning, implementation, and evaluation of the International Training Center (ITC) learning opportunities delivered to international clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate UPMC International Training Center learning opportunities, ensuring consistency with UPMC system-wide standards.
  2. Document team processes, standards, procedures, and policies.
  3. Support special projects as identified and performs other duties as assigned.
  4. Assist in the assessment of learning needs, conducting basic learning consultation and other assessment methods with HR partners, leaders, learners, and clients (when appropriate).
  5. Effectively communicate with HR partners, leaders, learners, and clients (when appropriate).
  6. Assist in the design and development of programs and provide input for ongoing content updates and maintenance of programs.
  7. Determine the effectiveness of learning and the transfer of learned skills to the workplace, using a variety of measurement tools that include evaluations, assessments, and surveys (when appropriate).
  8. Contribute to ongoing department quality improvement activities to enhance operational efficiencies.
  9. Assist with maintaining and tracking department projects including gathering project information (schedules, assignments, tasks, and timelines).
  10. Serve as department expert related to all ITC learning opportunities.
  11. Track, analyze, and report trends pertaining to training programs, materials, participant feedback.
  12. Work closely with other learning professionals to offer assistance and ensure consistency in program delivery.
  13. Stay updated with learning industry trends and make recommendations to support the organizations learning goals.
  14. Assist with the maintenance of department tracking databases.
  15. Mentor new and junior staff.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Learning and Development, or related field required. Minimum of 2 years of training experience required OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of training experience required.  Demonstrated knowledge of training curriculum design, development, and delivery required.  Demonstrated professional demeanor including customer service skills, dependability, time management skills and results-orientation required. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and track projects. Project management experience valued. Must be highly organized, creative, timely, and possess strong communication skills. Must be able to work regular business hours with scheduling flexibility. Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft products, PeopleSoft, or other HRIS systems.
