Responsibilities:

Perform patient care skill as directed by the RN/LPN in a safe manner according to policy and procedure
- Respond directly to patient requests and appropriately communicate the patient needs
- Assist with food distribution and feeding residents
- Assist with bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, nail care, hair care, and dressing
- Assist in transferring residents
- Document in the medical record according to established procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Working experience as aide in hospital or nursing home preferred
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and ability to operate medical equipment, utilizing all safety procedures
- Willingness to learn federal, state and local nursing home regulations as they relate to medical personnel and care of residents
- Willingness to learn infection control and standard precautions and the ability to apply same to essential job functions
- Successfully complete on the job orientation/training program
- Current PA Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Older Adult Protective Services Act
- Act 34 Criminal Clearance
- CPR within 30 days of beginning employment
