Description
Purpose:
Responsible for the troubleshooting, testing, repair and preventive maintenance of the hospital's patient related equipment and safety related items.
Responsibilities:
- Performs preventive maintenance and repair of patient furniture, including beds, gurneys, wheelchairs, reclining chairs, over bed tables, blood pressure cuffs, and scales, etc.
- Performs repair of pneumatic tube system carriers.
- Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
- Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized.
- Performs preventive maintenance and repair of a variety of equipment, including fan coil units, pharmacy drug carts, fire extinguishers, exit signs, grounds crew machinery, etc.
- Record personal work orders and submit hours on a daily basis.
- Perform all work following infection control procedures.
- Performs inspection and repairs of penetrations through smoke and fire walls.
- Must possess a current drivers license.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Trade school background preferred.
- Four years of experience working as a mechanic or electrician is required.
- May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
- No contact with medications is allowed.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Driver's License
- Act 34
