COVID-19 Vaccination Information

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Description

The Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor provides education to staff and community members enrolled in BLS Programs in accordance with the most recent scientific and educational guidelines of the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Has accountability for assisting students to change behavior through education; therefore must understand and apply the human relations skills of problem solving, group dynamics, communication, and teamwork to function effectively.
  • Demonstrates commitment to customer satisfaction as per the Mission, Vision, Values of the Pinnacle Health System
  • Advances professional growth and development through participation in instructor updates.
  • Maintains professional development and current standards for instructors as outlined by the American Heart Association guidelines.
  • Teaches in BLS programs offered by PinnacleHealth.

Qualifications

Certified as an instructor by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
