Description
UPMC Community Medicine Incorporated is seeking a full-time Research Specialist to support Orthopaedic Specialists - UPMC at the UPMC Passavant Professional Building!
The Research Specialist will collect and gather research data for assigned research projects, independently executing job functions according to protocol(s). This position will specifically support patient outcome studies, working with staff in the cadaveric lab, reaching out to and communicating directly with patients, and collecting patient data.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a science and/or medical background and an interest in medical data, as well as proficient computer skills. A working knowledge of EPIC is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s), including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, and collecting data by conducting phone or face-to-face interviews for research project(s).
- Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, and reports according to the needs of the study.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in psychology, neuroscience, sociology, engineering, or related research field.
- Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
- Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of EPIC is a plus.
