Description
Purpose:
Provides courier services between hospital campuses, physician offices, clinics, etc. Responsible for transporting specimens, supplies, reports, etc. to designated locations.
Responsibilities:
- Is courteous in greeting patients who require lab services.
- Stores and transports specimens at the appropriate temperature
- Operate ARHS vehicles with respect.
- Accurately delivers supplies to various physician offices and between the campuses.
- Transports samples in the appropriate device
- Accurately delivers mail to assigned locations.
- Takes requests and fills supply orders requested by physicians' offices and nursing homes.
- Adheres to standard precautions when handling blood and body fluids.
- Assist with courier requests form other departments.
Qualifications
- High school graduate; must have a valid driver's license.
- Knowledgeable of the laboratory transport practices.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with patients, physicians, and hospital employees.
- Communicates effectively.
- Accuracy in tasks of position.
- Ability to multitask in a busy office setting.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Automotive Insurance
- Driver's License
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
