Responsibilities:
- Initiates or assists in marketing efforts to expand service throughout the designated area. Collaborating effectively with executive management and staff; coordinating efforts through reporting and planning.
- Ensure compliance with all required credentialling standards and human resources requirements. Work with UPMC HR, Medical Director and other managers as appropriate to manage employee health program.
- Ensure fiscally responsible staffing by completing the schedule; working to minimize overtime and travel costs. Assumes responsibility for continuous staffing, managing call off and other staffing issues to help ensure maximum up-time is achieved.
- Provide clinical leadership in the assigned region and program-wide, assisting with staff education as needed; including coaching/mentoring new employees.
- Review and reconcile payroll, expense reports, and other supply chain needs for accuracy and fiscal responsibility toward budget goals. Analyze and oversee capital needs and/or improvements. Complete budgetary compliance and operations reports as assigned.
- Maintain a working knowledge of regional licensure. Coordinate with Medical Directiors and staff to ensure all relevant licensure requirements are maintained.
- Ensure all regional teams have adequate equipment and supplies. Evaluate new and innovative technologies for relevant program application and report opportunities to leadership. Oversee and coordinate the purchase, storage, and distribution, of necessary equipment, supplies, and uniforms to ensure medical operations are conducted safely and efficiently. Additionally, a designated Medical Manager will ensure compliance with biomedical services standards, recordkeeping, and updates.
- Works to ensure system standardization across the program, and within the assigned region of equipment, supplies, response readiness, and policy/procedures.
- Active participant in the quality improvement process, ensuring peer review is professional, pertinent, and timely. Assists with root cause analysis of patient safety and quality of care incidents, and is an active participant in clinical oversight within the assigned region.
Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years' experience as a clinician with strong interpersonal communication skills, professional appearance and manner, excellent computer proficiency, and with demonstrated superior organizational skills.
- Prior management experience is preferred.
- The ability to manage people with excellent skills in interpersonal conflict resolution is required.
- Must have a willingness to support management decisions and assist with implementation of program goals and objectives.
- In addition must have demonstrated superior clinical skills and judgment, with the ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Required:Driver's License, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation,Advanced Cardiac Life Support,, NIH Stroke Scale Certification (within 90 days of hire), active state license as appropriate, NREMT-P (based on clinical license level)RN, or EMT-P ,Act 34 (within 90 days of hire), Baccalaureate degree in any field is preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Driver's License
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification
- National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) OR National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMT-P) OR Registered Nurse (RN)
