Purpose:
Provides staffing schedules for all units within Asbury Heights based on established staffing requirements for each nursing unit.
Responsibilities:
- Identify safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action plan.
- Provide staffing schedules for all units within Seneca Place based on established staffing requirements for each nursing unit.
- Use proper telephone etiquette when answering the phone.
- Follow Resident Rights policies at all times.
- Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
- Maintain safe environment
- Employee must maintain confidentiality of information at all times.
- Assume accountability for information contained in the employee handbook.
- Maintain confidential records related to licenses, certifications, and required health related testing of all agency personnel.
- Maintain nursing personnel attendance reports and submit a monthly report to the Director of Nursing denoting lost work time and overtime statistics.
- Assist new employees in following established facility policies and procedures
- Maintain performance levels that support the mission and philosophy of Seneca Place.
- Report and document unusual incidents/problems according to facility procedure.
- Attend training in database management.
- Perform payroll data entry for all Seneca Place Nursing Staff.
- Liaison with corporate payroll and billing departments.
- Collect and record data, in a timely manner, to keep all database information current.
- In the event of call-offs or other absences, ensure adequate staffing.
- Consistently work cooperatively and pleasantly with all staff, residents, family members and others.
- Maintain educational competency.
- On a daily basis prepare and distribute nursing hours per day for each nursing unit.
- Maintain confidential personnel files related to progressive disciplines and performance evaluations of all agency personnel.
- Prepare daily staffing for review with respective unit managers each day by 11 a.m.
- Maintain contact with agencies to obtain temporary staffing for open slots.
- Interact and communicate effectively with all customers of the organization.
- Assume accountability for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within his/her span of control.
- Order office and other supplies as needed.
- Obtain supporting documentation for all agency invoices and submit to the Director of Nursing, Administrator and the Corporate Office.
- Follow established performance standards and perform according to nursing service policies and procedures.
- Observe infection control procedures and standard precautions.
- Attend mandatory in-service educational programming.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of secretarial and/or scheduling experience required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs or other scheduling software preferred.
- Experience working in a health care setting preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 34
- OAPSA
