The Team:

UPMC Health Plan's Strategic Consumer Innovation group is committed to delivering human-centered solutions at the intersection of design, technology, health care and wellness. We are currently scaling the product management and digital innovation practice for our flagship mobile app. Today, the UPMC Health Plan mobile app offers our members convenient, on-the-go access to their health insurance benefits, including finding in-network care, accessing digital ID cards, reviewing health care spending, and chatting with our award-winning Health Care Concierge team. The next generation of this product will innovate the way we care for our members by enabling real-time decision-making, care guidance, and personalized recommendations.

 

The Position:

As we grow our cross-functional app team, we are looking for a Digital Product Analyst to help us bring our vision for the next generation of this product to life. Leveraging excellent problem solving and analytical skills, the Digital Product Analyst will be responsible for maximizing the value we deliver to our members through our product delivery process, focusing on requirements, releases, and product performance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Applies market and product expertise to identify and inform user requirements.
  • Creates product requirements with input from business stakeholders, product management, user experience design, engineering, and quality assurance teams.
  • Defines business analytics, metrics, and KPIs to measure product success, adoption and performance.
  • Prioritizes and maintains product backlog with the goal of maximizing business and user value.
  • Operates confidently as a product owner within an Agile Scrum team--preparing for Agile ceremonies and supporting team through development sprints.
  • Challenges the status quo and proactively removes impediments by recommending new and alternative approaches.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to define requirements and facilitate user acceptance testing.
  • Presents product features to leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Maintains product documentation including process flows, diagrams, and feature maps.
  • Oversees product releases and Beta programs.
  • Applies knowledge of evolving trends in mobile technology and platforms.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to solve problems and identify trends/opportunities.
  • Informs, influences, and supports product decisions and development.
  • Works on mid to large-sized projects with minimal oversight.
  • Participates in all phases of the product development including early-stage discovery through completion focusing specifically on delivery.

 

We are headquartered in downtown Pittsburgh and currently working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. This position offers the option for permanent remote work, however, employees may be required to travel periodically throughout the year (approximately once per quarter). Continued eligibility for remote work will be conditional based upon performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience preferred. Masters or PhD preferred
  • Three years professional experience required.
  • Familiarity with business issues, or the ability to quickly learn.
  • Understanding of health care ITExcellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities.
  • Product management/design experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and familiarity with PowerPointProject management skills.
  • Ability to own and drive own work stream.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with and manage internal and external stakeholders, including business operations and executives as needed.
  • Analytical and financial modeling experience, including use of ExcelProactive in setting milestones, work planning, and delivering on commitments
  • Positive can-do attitude.
