Team Leader, EVS-UPMC Magee Women's Hospitals


Ensure the assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, and equipment are properly cleaned according to the procedures established by the Environmental Services Department. Work with and coordinate assigned Environmental Services Aides.



  • In the absence of the shift supervisor, temporarily act in a supervisory capacity; assume the responsibilities of the shift supervisor.
  • Report problems and suggestions to the shift supervisor.
  • Communicate with unit personnel and other departments regarding specific needs in order to complete assignments.
  • Ensure that the daily work of all team members is assigned and that team members are working in assigned area.
  • Ensure that sufficient supplies and equipment are available for subordinates. Report all problems to the shift supervisor.
  • Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisor.
  • Comply with all Hospital/Department policies and procedures.
  • MWH: Waste Removal: Transports municipal waste in a safe manner from designated areas to the compactor.
  • MWH: Preventive Cleaning: Remove debris from entrances, sidewalks, parking lots, and garages.
  • MWH: Preventive Cleaning: Vacuum and spot cleans carpets.
  • MWH: Waste Removal: Transports recycled waste from the point of origin to designated holding areas and/or special compactor.
  • MWH: Other Duties: Removes trash and linen to proper collection areas.
  • MWH: Other Duties: Maintains equipment and work areas.
  • MWH: Other Duties: Cleans refrigerators and other general equipment.
  • MWH: Other Duties: Transports furniture, beds, boxes, and other equipment and supplies.
  • MWH: Waste Removal: Transports bio hazardous and chemo therapeutic waste in a safe manner from designated areas to the incinerator.
  • MWH: Preventive Cleaning: Clean exam rooms, public rest rooms and waiting areas, offices, corridors, and all non-patient care areas.



HS Diploma/GED preferred 2 years relevant experience required

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34 with renewal
