Description
Provide for coordinating the oversight of at least 3 UPMC Cardiovascular imaging departments under the general direction of the Director. Perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment in addition to a managing all aspects of the department (operation, quality, financials, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Manage all day to day operational aspects of Cardiovascular imaging departments that may include multiple sites.
- Accountable for all financial, operations, volume and quality for the department.
- Demonstrate, maintain, and ensure that the UPMC Experience is carried out by staff and made known to patients, visitors and peers.
- Perform monthly staff meetings and update staff on process changes, hospital changes, and departmental changes.
- Establish and maintain an atmosphere of caring and support by directly utilizing the UPMC core values.
- Create processes and quality improvement initiatives for the division.
- Oversee the maintenance and integrity of the appropriate modality CDM. Maintain current knowledge of CPT guidelines.
- Stay on top of new modality developments. Implement new techniques, equipment and procedures.
- Maintain job descriptions, evaluations and orientation for the division.
- Participate in the preparation for the DOH and TJC.
- Maintain timekeeping in Kronos and provide MRS submissions.
- Interact with vendors and other service providers to maintain high quality equipment.
- Perform hiring, dismissal, employee reviews, and training programs.
- Work closely with Supervisors, Leads, and Directors to develop a team atmosphere.
- Act as a system resource for protocol development and training programs. Coordinate quality control activities and accepts responsibility for the resolution of problems that arise.
- Manage multiple projects/duties, set priorities, and utilize good planning skills to enhance complete productivity, exam turnaround and patient satisfaction.
- Direct and oversee procedures and personnel related to charge processing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
- 5 years of experience in a radiology discipline with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity required.
- Completion of satisfactory formal training in a radiology related program accredited by the ARRT or NMTCB, i.e. Radiology or Nuclear Medicine, a Nursing or PA program as applicable.
- Must attend continuing education programs and maintain an active registry status as applicable.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Physician Assistant (PA) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) OR Registered Nurse (RN)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
