Description

UPMC Cole (Coudersport) is currently seeking a Casual Courier to work two days per week. Hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This position does not work weekends but may work some holidays.  

The Courier will transport items such as office supplies, lab specimens, and interoffice mail. This position can expect to drive approximately 150-200 miles per day while covering a scheduled route including Coudersport, Northern Potter, Westfield, Galeton, Emporium, Port Alleghany, Smethport, Bradford, Eldred, and Shinglehouse. A valid driver's license is required.

Purpose:
Sort and distribute interoffice mail, x-rays, and packages.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Promptly answer all pages and take appropriate action to take care of urgent deliveries.
  • Organize mail for delivery to various drop off/pick-up sites around the UPMC .
  • Sort all interoffice and incoming US mail as required.
  • Complete compliance training as well as hospital and department fire/safety and infection control training and maintain current knowledge of safety procedures within the hospital and department.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow the schedule set by the Office Manager and Administrator of Operations.
  • Pick up and distribute clean lab coats on assigned days.

 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Current and valid driver's license required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Driver's License
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
