Research Project Coordinator WPIC

Description

Purpose:
The Research Project Coordinator WPIC will provide coordination and support for special projects and daily activities for the University of Pittsburgh NIDA Center of Excellence: Center for Adolescent Rhythms, Reward, and Sleep (CARRS) in the Department of Psychiatry. The goal of CARRS is to integrate human and rodent studies to understand the impact of adolescent sleep and circadian rhythm changes (both biologically and environmentally induced) on reward circuitry and substance use (SU)-relevant outcomes.

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of project spending and funds available.
  • Coordinate the daily activities and special projects for department.
  • Coordinate scheduling of assessments.
  • Assist with quality assurance over all aspects of data collection and management, including data flow, data entry and verification, maintenance of all project databases, data security and confidentiality.
  • Provides regular supervision for junior staff.
  • Responsible for preparing and modifying IRB protocols, Regulatory Binders, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the research, clinical, and administrative staff related to this research.
  • Coordination of recruitment ie. Advertisements, tracking recruitment, and developing strategies to increase response in targeted populations.
  • Responsible for the submission of regular reports detailing the progress of the research, including NIH progress reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, business administration or related area of study and three years of relevant research and/or clinical experience is required.

  • Act 34
