Receptionist - Casual - Seneca Place

Description

Seneca Place Verona is looking for dedicated individuals like you to help enhance the lives of our residents.  As the Receptionist, you will provide a variety of reception and clerical duties while under general supervision. 

Seneca Place, located in Penn Hills, is a rehab and personal care facility with a team dedicated to returning residents to their highest level of independence. Join us in walking alongside and enriching the lives of our residents as we strive to meet their physical, psychological, and social needs.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Receive, sort and distribute mail to correct department, resident or staff member in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Direct complaints to appropriate department or staff.
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
  • Must remain flexible in work schedule (overtime, evenings, holidays, etc.).
  • Follows facility fire, disaster and evacuation policies and procedures as required.
  • Follow Resident's Rights policies at all times.
  • Assist Dietary Department with sorting of residents' menus for next-day meals.
  • Screen all individuals coming into the facility and exercises good judgment in granting entrance.
  • Work cooperatively with all facility staff.
  • Handle emergency situations in a calm, effective manner.
  • Receive and respond courteously and appropriately to all inquiries made.
  • Attend all mandatory educational offerings.
  • Maintain up-to-date emergency reference, key staff and medical staff telephone listing.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls on a multi-line telephone system on or before the third ring consistently.
  • Answer all inquiries according to facility policies and procedures, seeking direction as needed.
  • Refile business office files in the manner prescribed and when directed.
  • Observe infection control and universal precaution policies and procedures.
  • Enforce visitation policies and procedures.
  • Observe all facility safety policies and procedures
  • Input initial resident admission data producing face sheet, armband, identification card.
  • Respond to written requests for information in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Screen and direct all incoming calls in a courteous efficient manner to the proper department or staff member.
  • Interact with residents and residents' representatives and directs them to appropriate department or staff.

 

Qualifications

  • Completion of High school diploma or equivalent
  • Superior interpersonal skills required
  • Must be able to type at a speed commensurate with job demands
  • Previous experience with business office equipment including: typewriter, computer, paging system, multi-line telephone system, copier and fax machine.
