UPMC Susquehanna is looking for an Environmental Management Coordinator to provide Environmental Health & Safety services to UPMC Susquehanna - Williamsport as well as other locations in the UPMC Susquehanna region..
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate compliance with waste regulations, including permitting, inspections, and reporting at facilities covered by the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
- Provide oversight of contractors that provide specific water treatment technology.
- Coordinate compliance with waste water regulations, including permitting, sampling and ongoing reporting at facilities covered by the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
- Coordinate the completion of all required water sampling as per EPA, PADEP and ACHD requirements for each permitted facility.
- Provide support to ASHRAE 188 Water Management Compliance for UPMC facilities. Attend ongoing Infection Control and Water Management Team meetings.
- Coordinate compliance with Air Emission regulations, including permitting and ongoing reporting at facilities covered by the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
- Coordinate compliance with storage tank regulations, including permitting, inspections and reporting at facilities covered by the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
- Will serve as Licensed Water Treatment Operator (as required by PA DEP) for UPMC. Will obtain an Operator Certification and meet the ongoing requirements of the Certification Program.
- Provide water quality program oversight, water safety plan development, regulatory compliance with all EPA, PADEP, ACHD drinking water regulations, permit development and oversight, serve as a regulatory agency liaison on behalf of UPMC.
- Coordinate compliance with DOT regulations as applicable to UPMC operations at facilities covered by the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
- Coordinate with other UPMC departments to effectively manage ongoing drinking water compliance.
- Complete permit applications and renewals for drinking water, waste water, storage tanks, and air emissions.
- Coordinate the completion of all regulatory required reporting to comply with EPA, PADEP and ACHD requirements for each permitted facility.
Qualifications
- Completion of a collegiate curriculum in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Safety Sciences, or Safety Engineering at the Baccalaureate level required.
- 5 years of experience in the environmental, water quality management field and/or other associated field.
- Master's Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering preferred.
- Prior experience in water quality management and environmental compliance preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
PA Drink Water Operators License require (or obtain within 9 months of hire).CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) preferred.
