The UPMC Schools of Nursing is hiring a Coordinator who will be responsible for the Pre-Admission Testing.

Provides a comprehensive range of pre-admission testing services to prospective students. Generates testing schedules for all of the UPMC Schools of Nursing. Administers and processes all pre-admission tests and disseminates results to prospective students and the Schools. Act as a liaison between testing companies, schools of nursing and prospective to insure timely processing of testing results to expedite admissions. Manages testing data base and analyses trends related to test results.



  • Confirms candidates' eligibility to test. Confirm testing registration in advance of scheduled testing date. Answers phone, e-mail and persona inquiries related to testing.
  • In collaboration with the Director, Student Affairs & Recruitment formulates policies and procedures related to pre-admission testing; generates strategies to increase volume of testing to meet enrolment targets and complies with potential students' requests for accommodation. Serves an ex-officio member on each school's admissions committees and assists with recruitment activities including formal presentations to groups.
  • Maintains a data base of all test scores.
  • Distributes results to potential students suggesting remediation or other UPMC career opportunities for non-passers/providing a welcome packet for potential students with acceptable test scores. Communicates all test scores and trends to the Director, Student Affairs & Recruitment for follow up. Maintains FERPA related to results.
  • In collaboration with the Director, Student Affairs & Recruitment generates test schedules for all locations in collaboration with ATI.
  • Controls all aspects of testing environment by confirming registration status and identity of all testers, proctors testing environment to eliminate opportunities for academic dishonesty; adheres to parameters as defined in testing manual.



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an increasingly responsible administrative role required;
  • Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of administrative experience is preferred.
  • Computer literacy in data base management, electronic mail/calendar, spreadsheets and ability to perform advanced word processing.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple testing sites and complex scheduling requirements.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Ability to use discretion and independent judgment.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and financial principles and functions.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 33 with renewal
