UPMC Health Plan is seeking a Campaign Marketing Manager to oversee the creation and execution of direct to consumer marketing campaigns in support of the Marketplace line of business.  The ideal candidate will have a strong marketing background, preferably in an agency environment, with superior organizational skills.  Healthcare industry experience is not required but is preferred.

The Campaign Marketing Manager is responsible for planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns that support sales goals, enhance member experience and satisfaction, and build brand recognition. Campaign managers will collaborate with colleagues within marketing & communications, health & productivity, third-party partner and other lines of business to oversee campaigns that meet sales goals and objectives. The campaign manager will develop a tactical plan based on the marketing strategy that educates, attracts, and retains members. The primary responsibilities of this campaign manager will be focused on overseeing, executing, and monitoring a regional multi-media consumer campaign that includes broad media (digital and traditional), direct marketing, sales collateral, and public relations with extensions into retail and community events.


  • Plan, implement and monitor results for a regional multi-media campaign that is designed to generate membership during a specified time period. The campaign will include digital and traditional media, direct marketing, public relations, community events, and sales support.
  • Create and execute strategic, tactical marketing plans that engage, educate and retain members, drive demand, and support revenue and business goals.
  • Identify and detail appropriate marketing channels/tactics that drive sales and generate brand awareness.
  • Monitor and analyze campaigns through a global marketing database and CRM system to maximize ROI, and make recommendations on changes needed.
  • Unify market strategy recommendations and implementation plans into a cohesive creative brief that internal marketing and/or external creative resources can execute against.
  • Coordinate campaign deadlines and resource requirements of writing, creative services, and communications governance.
  • Collaborate with third-party affiliates on the development and delivery of marketing collateral & digital communications that educate, inform, and engage members.
  • Build and manage campaign calendar and deliverables along the marketing value chain of attract, convert, welcome, engage and retain.
  • Provide feedback and data analytics to support and enhance market strategy and direction.
  • Ensure coordination and clear communication among constituents throughout the course of the campaign.
  • Design detailed integrated implementation plans and timing for all tactics in marketing plans including measurable objectives, creative briefs, marketing messages/claims, campaign data specifications (test designs and measurements), and creative mandator.
  • Develop requests for primary and secondary market research providing research objectives. Utilizes insights gained through market and sales data: market/competitive research, database analysis, project performance to guide campaign strategies and tactic.


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, business or related field.
  • 3 years of marketing, marketing communications or public relations experience, preferable within an agency setting.  Healthcare experience a plus.
  • Experience with direct marketing and analytics is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Results-oriented: demonstrated success in overcoming obstacles and launching campaigns on time and on budget.
  • Proven experience and demonstrable results in execution and measuring marketing campaigns.
  • Able to build consensus among various internal and works well as team member.
  • Self-starter; able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Online/social marketing knowledge a plus.
