UPMC Home Health is hiring an Occupational Therapy Team Leader to join its team!

This position will sit in West Mifflin and support the South branch of UPMC Home Health.

This is a Full Time position working Monday-Friday, 8A-430P. 1-2 weekends every 6 weeks required.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, develops and participates in process improvement opportunities within the home health agency that will enhance the quality of services we provide.
  • Continually develops professional skills by assuming responsibility for ongoing education.
  • Assists with the completion of performance appraisals. Makes supervisory visits with staff to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.
  • Performs duties and job responsibilities in a fashion which coincides with the service management philosophy of the organization towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians and other departments within the organization.
  • Attend compliance training and adhere to the organization standards of conduct, policies and procedures
  • Proven ability to facilitate change.
  • Focuses on customer service and continually strives to perform the duties of their job in a manner that will result in optimal patient satisfaction.
  • Oversees activities of the team including assignment of new patients to multidisciplinary staff. Coordination of interdisciplinary services to patients, coordination and scheduling of visits to ensure that productivity is achieved. Ensures that orders for services and treatment are obtained by the Case Manager prior to delivery of care. Provides discipline specific direct patient care as scheduling requires.
  • Facilitates communication with inter-intradisciplinary team members, physicians, and other professionals and by fostering and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Facilitates accurate documentation and ensures optimal patient care and utilization of services to ensure that outcomes are achieved while containing costs per episode.

 

Qualifications

Physical Therapist:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program, B.S. Degree in Physical Therapy-Required
  • Minimum of two (2) years healthcare experience-Required
  • Minimum of one (1) year home health experience - Required
  • Minimum of one (1) year management experience - Preferred

OR

Occupational Therapist

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program, B.S. Degree in occupational therapy-Required
  • Minimum of two (2) years healthcare experience-Required
  • Minimum of one (1) year home health experience - Required
  • Minimum of one (1) year management experience - Preferred


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in state of PA and/or in Ohio (LPT) where applicable Required Member of the American Physical Therapy Association  Preferred Act 73 required for Pediatric/OB caregivers Required ORLicensed Occupational Therapy License in PA and in Ohio where applicable  Required Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)  Required Member of American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Required Act 73 required for Pediatric/OB caregivers RequiredCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
