Product Specialist II

Description

Community HealthChoices (CHC) is Pennsylvania's managed care long term services and supports (LTSS) program serving seniors and individuals with physical disabilities in the Commonwealth who are covered by Medicare and Medicaid. 

Assist with the development of the CMS required marketing materials (e.g., ANOCs, Summary of Benefits, and Enrollment Applications), conduct competitive analysis, completion of product information for custom group RFPs and interface with a variety of functional areas throughout the UPMC Health Plan and System.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet CMS and PID deadlines for mailing annual marketing materials to individual and group members.
  • Medicare Supplement product materials.
  • Develop and review (proofreading) the Medicare ANOCs, Summary of Benefits and Evidence of Coverage for Individual and Group Products. Also review and update of
  • Project lead over the development of employer group grid requests, GEF requests and rider creation for Medicare products.
  • Assist with the development of new and other team members, teaching them how to develop Medicare Product Development materials.
  • Assist with the development of training materials and preparing manuals for the classes.
  • Lead the development of annual enrollment applications and ID cards.
  • Project leader over gathering market intelligence and competitive analysis for Medicare products.
  • Coordinate the responses to all custom group RFPs for Medicare product development.
  • Attend at least 3 continuous education classes per year to increase knowledge in the health care industry.
  • Communicate all market intelligence information to Marketing, Sales and Broker staff to ensure the understanding of competitive threats and issues
  • Meet deadlines as set by executive management.
  • Evaluate the impact of new Federal and state mandates on Medicare products.
  • Coordinate submission of marketing materials for federal or state approval and report outstanding issue to management.
  • Submit weekly reports to Sr. Manager Product Management and Development that outlines all activities and meetings.
  • Communicate effectively all issues that impact daily and ongoing operations.
  • Work with a variety of functional areas within Health Plan System that assist with the creation of Medicare products and required marketing materials.
  • Meet RFP deadlines for input of Medicare information for new group business.

 

Qualifications

B.S. degree in Business Administration or Marketing OR 5 years experience in health insurance, product development, or product management will be considered in lieu of degree 2-3 years minimum relevant product experience requiredComputer Skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including: Internet Explorer, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Access Software packages. Proficient in using HPMS (CMS system), and CMS websites.Demonstrated success in leading projects.Ability to multi-task and meet very tight deadlines.Excellent attention to details and organizational abilities.Self-starter with the ability to work independently.Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferences: 

  • Strong data analytics background
  • Advanced Excel skills and Power BI/Tableau experience
  • Understanding of Grant Writing process
  • Experience with Social determinants of health and how they impact the healthcare landscape
